The Eagles Nest Youth Project is based in Luton, Bedfordshire. This organisation works primarily with children and youth of all ethnic and racial backgrounds, but particularly with children and youth of African and Caribbean origins. We wish to relief poverty and distress, as well as advance education and provide benefit, in particular to those who are socially excluded from school etc, in care with the local authorities and from less well off families and communities.
Our aim is to create opportunities for young people to have choices in life which will assist them to earn a living and contribute to their community either directly or indirectly. We would like the young people to widen their horizons and to know that they have a chance to progress and achieve their dreams. We are a charity dedicated to improving the lives of young people through education and employment opportunities. Giving people the chance to earn a living raises their self esteem and that of their families.
We hope that the work we do will lead to further generations having the prospect of widening their horizons and in turn creating work for the community. Drawing on what we have learnt whilst living and working abroad and in England, we have built up links with people who, at grass roots, know what is needed and what they would like us to provide.
